Ground News

Description

Ground News is a news aggregation platform that helps users expand their view of the news and easily compare how a story is being reported across the political spectrum. They identify all news articles written on a story and arrange the organizations reporting on the event into categories of political bias, geographic location, and chronology. News is aggregated from over 50,000 news sources, including many alternative, independent sources.

Instructions

Ground News is available for a 6-month trial and requires a code during the trial period. Please email Megan Heady, mlheady@mail.wvu.edu, to request a code. Each code is valid for 6 months. After receiving your code, click here to redeem it. You will be prompted to create an account with your university email. You may then access Ground News.

Help with Databases

Most databases are available off-campus to current WVU-Morgantown students, faculty and staff. Licensing restrictions prevent WVU Libraries from providing off-campus access to others. Your affiliation with WVU is verified through use of WVU Login. You will be prompted to enter this when you choose a database from the menu. For assistance with WVU Login, please go to the Information Technology Services (ITS) website at: https://login.wvu.edu/. There you can activate your account or change your password. Alternatively, you may call the ITS Help Desk at (304)293-4444.
